A Leader for Mead

Welcome to the official campaign website for Chris Cartwright, Trustee of the Town of Mead. Chris is committed to enhancing community policing, fostering a sense of community based on shared conservative principles, and supporting policies that attract private investment and economic growth. Join Chris in making Mead a better place for everyone.

Chris Cartwright is an experienced IT Systems Administrator and Trustee who has made significant contributions to the Town of Mead. In addition to working as an IT professional, he had managed several restaurants, and co-owned a high-end catering company.  He has a unique background, having once auditioned for Hell's Kitchen (really - check out the Video Here)  and possibly being the only person alive to have been on the bridge of the Jupiter 2 (Lost in Space 1963) and the USS Enterprise 1701-A. (Star Trek 1979)

What I Stand For

Fiscal Responsibility

I have been a voice fighting for new business growth in the economic development areas, working to increasing jobs and the availability of products and services for our town. In addition, this will provide a greater base of income to maintain the Debt Free status of the Town of Mead.

Public safety

I was a member of the Board of Trustees from the time when Weld County decided to no longer have contracted patrol support which pushed the board to create a self sustaining Police Department. The small department was responsible for patrolling 125+ miles of roads, supporting 3 schools and 2,600 students and teachers, protecting 2,365 homes and the 6,622 residents, and all of the local businesses, I-25 & Hwy 66 with a limited budget that is rapidly approaching the limits the Town can currently afford.

As a Trustee I support the 1% Sales and Use Tax limited solely to the Mead Police Department, and as a citizen I am supporting the Building a Stronger Mead Community initiative.

Traditional Values

Having a sense of community and neighborhood connection is very important to the Town and the board. As we continue to grow in both residential and business units, we need to remember our roots to continue the home town feel that many of us moved to Mead for.
